It's a Love Story - Oct. 2011

Brandi & Jason are engaged! Their story is known by many...girl and boy notice each other, they continually cross paths, and years later one date leads to many dates.

God longs to fulfill the desires of our hearts and your story is just one more example of His love for us. I am excited for you and know that you both deserve happiness. I can not wait to see your new life unfold in the years ahead. Thanks for the honor of photographing your story, it means a lot to me. Congrats and MANY happy years of life and love together! -a

Oh Darling, Don't You Ever Grow Up - October 15, 2011

Everytime I hear these words written below by Taylor Swift my son Wyatt comes straight to my mind.  He will be 4 years old this winter and I can not believe that time has passed as fast as it has.  There are things that I already miss about him being a toddler and the long nights of infancy seem to be a distant memory. I capture Wyatt's life with my camera as often as I can to keep these sweet moments of childhood alive but I fear that one day I won't be able to pick him up in my arms and snuggle his precious neck.

Wyatt has a love for the outdoors so, we went to Thompson Farms one Saturday morning in October.  He suggested that he wear his overalls and a camouflage shirt...by the time he came back from a tractor ride he was shirtless and wanted to take his shoes and socks off...I guess he feels right at home on a farm.  I was lucky enough to capture the following moments of Wyatt's farm visit pictured below.  My hope and prayer is that he grows into a strong, loving, spiritual young man but the mommy in me doesn't want him to grow up at all. -a

"Your little hand's wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light
To you everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that

Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little." -T.S.

Happy Halloween 2011! Kid's Costume Photo Session

I have always loved Halloween!  I can remember being a child and walking through the neighborhoods filled with other excited children in their costumes. I can still smell the cool crisp air and remember the taste of caramel and hot apple cider from my autumn childhood days.  Dressing up in a costume was always an adventure and I can remember almost every costume I ever wore.  Halloween is special to me.  I still find a childlike joy in the things that make Halloween memorable...haunted houses, ghost stories, candy-corn, bobbing for apples, pumpkin patches and hay rides.  I hope that my children find as much joy in this season as I do. -a

1 Boy + 1 Boy = The Hall Family - July 2011

Mason now has a little brother, Easton!  I know these two will grow up with many stories to tell!  They are both adorable and all boy :)  I felt right at home with the Hall family on this early Saturday morning...since, there are only Johnson boys in our family I knew exactly what to expect...lots of laughter! Thank you for letting me capture their sweet faces!  Y'all are too cute! -a

The Piland Babes - August 2011

"Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8. These are the words that Lyndsey & Matthew Piland put their trust in while praying for a family of their own. Through years of patience, tears, and prayer their faith and trust in the Lord did not go unnoticed. In the last 15 months the Piland family was blessed with two sweet bundles of joy. First, Amelia then, Cooper. The words of Jeremiah continue to hang in the Piland home. You can read them on the wall in the room of their first born. They continue to praise Him for his mercy and grace and meeting their heart's desire. Here is a small glimpse of two of the greatest love stories ever told...Amelia Elaine and Cooper Timothy. I love you Piland family. -auntie a
